Quiet Sparkles

Tiny stories for slow moments

Quiet Sparkles is my creative space — a home for short stories, reflections, and gentle essays about everyday life, emotions, and overlooked moments.

Long before I gave this space a name, I had already been writing many of these pieces — as small confessions and reflective essays on my blog, and as self-published stories and books (including on Amazon). They were Quiet Sparkles in spirit, even if the name didn’t exist yet.

More recently, I began bringing these threads together more intentionally under one umbrella — Quiet Sparkles. For a while, I shared some of my thoughts on social media (Facebook, Instagram), but I quickly realized I actually needed a quieter, more thoughtful space. That’s why I’m now launching a dedicated Substack, and I’m also exploring Medium and more traditional publishing routes for some of my upcoming works.

Past Work

Quiet Sparkles has grown out of many creative threads I’ve explored over the years. My work branches into two main directions — nonfiction and literary fiction — both connected by a shared interest in everyday emotions, sensory experiences, and overlooked moments.

Nonfiction

My nonfiction work has often taken the form of reflective essays and personal confessions, which I’ve shared on my blog and social media. These pieces explore emotional textures, self-help culture, and quiet moments of everyday life.

A few examples:

These posts reflect my interest in emotional intelligence, small rituals, and how feelings shape our daily experiences.

I’m currently working on a nonfiction book about overlooked emotions — a project that grows directly out of these reflections.

Literary fiction

On the literary side, my creative work spans short fiction, children’s literature, and more experimental narratives. These pieces often center around sensory experiences, nonhuman perspectives, and quiet moments.

Short stories: Some of my earlier stories were self-published in the collection Voices of Nature (story.one), where I wrote from the perspectives of rocks, winds, birds, crickets, fire, and water. This experimental project explores various ways of seeing and sensing the world, and I’m currently working on a revised edition. Alongside this, I’m developing new literary pieces, some of which will appear on Substack.

Children’s Literature: I’ve written and self-published children’s stories in English and German, including the Mimi Stories (Mimi Geschichten, Kleine Funken), which explore everyday wonder through playful narratives. (You can find out more on Amazon.)

✨ Why Quiet Sparkles?

The name Quiet Sparkles grew out of my fascination with the small, often overlooked moments that give shape to our lives. “Quiet” stands for the mundane, the subtle, the everyday details we often pass by; “sparkles” evokes brief flashes of light and the sensory brightness that can ignite change and imagination. Together, they express my belief that stories — whether academic, fictional, or personal — can help us pay closer attention to the world and to ourselves.
